Description
Our STEM program serves 6th through 8th grade by providing the equipment, technology, and the focus that engages learners by creating a framework for them to create their own personalized learning paths. This approach, with 15% conceptual and 85% immersive, allows learners to be met where they are and learn through interaction and engagement.
1). STEM through Virtual Reality – Utilizing Virtual Reality Headsets, learners explore STEM topics ranging from biology to physics to space exploration.
2). Minecraft for Education – Learners utilize Minecraft for Education to explore Digital literacy to chemistry to physics to software development.
3). Artificial Intelligence – Learners utilize AI to explore STEM related topics while learning the fundamentals of AI. In addition to AI, topics discussed include ethics, copyright, and digital safety.
4). Team organization and collaboration – Learners are introduced to Agile techniques and methodologies including Scrum, Kansan, facilitation, and Agile.
5). Software Development – Learners start with block coding and have opportunities to progress to HTML, JavaScript, C#, and Database topics.
6). Intro to marketing – Learners have the opportunity to develop a marketing plan, and then put their plan into action.
