For over 150 years, the Indianapolis Public Library has evolved to meet the changing needs of our city and its residents. With 260,000+ cardholders and an annual circulation of nearly 7 million, our 25 branch locations and bookmobile serve as essential community hubs, providing access to knowledge, resources, and support.

Available Services & Programs:

✔ Gun Safety & Free Gun Locks
• Free, easy-to-use gun locks are available at all library locations.
• Designed to prevent accidental discharge, especially in homes with children.
• No ID or residency requirements—just visit any branch and request one, no questions asked.

✔ STEM & Arts Programs
• Free STEM-related programs for all ages.
• Creative arts programs available for children, teens, and adults.

✔ Educational & Career Development Support
• Free financial literacy, computer classes, and career resources.
• Dedicated career centers to assist with job searches, resumes, and professional development.

✔ Community Support & Health Services
• On-site social worker to connect residents to essential resources.
• COVID-19 & Flu Vaccine Clinics available at College Avenue and Garfield Park branches.
