Use What You’ve Got Ministry Keeping Families Connected has been serving Indiana communities for 36 years, offering essential support to families affected by incarceration. The organization provides safe and reliable transportation to 18 different state, federal, and juvenile correctional facilities in the state of Indiana, ensuring families can maintain vital connections with their incarcerated loved ones. Additionally, the ministry hosts a long-standing Holiday Assistance Program, bringing joy to children of incarcerated parents and fostering community unity.

Key initiatives include the Men’s Retreat for at-risk, marginalized men, the Women’s Retreat for low-income women, and Journey to a New Way of Life, which supports African-American men aged 18-45 in achieving stability and reintegration. These programs address community violence, promote healing, and empower individuals to lead productive, fulfilling lives.

Services include:

  • Shuttle bus service to various Indiana prisons for the family and friends of inmates. (Rider fees are based the ability to pay).
  • Counseling for the family during and after the incarceration of a family member.
  • Referral service to existing social and educational organizations for assistance and needs assessment.
  • Spiritual retreat to provide educational forums, survival skills, and guidance for personal fulfillment and growth.
  • Distribution center for clothing and essential food items.
  • Support network to allow strength through numbers.
